Oxto AIChateau Boswell has been doing things quietly since 1979 — small-lot wines sold directly to a mailing list, out of a hand-built stone winery on the Silverado Trail in St. Helena. The founder's original vision was simple: grow great Cabernet Sauvignon and get out of the way. Today, winemaker Allison Nunnikhoven and consulting winemaker Philippe Melka carry that forward across Napa Valley Cabernets, Russian River Valley Chardonnays, and Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noirs — all under 350 cases per bottling. Visits are by appointment only and fully private, just you and your group. It's the kind of place that reminds you what wine tasting is actually supposed to feel like.
